1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using I Ching Realm ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access the Service.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. By using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 16 years of age, or if you are under 16, you have obtained parental or guardian consent to use the Service.

2. Description of Service

I Ching Realm is a digital oracle and divination experience based on the ancient Chinese I Ching (Book of Changes). The Service provides:

• An interactive six-coin casting ritual generating one of 64 hexagrams
• Traditional I Ching readings based on the King Wen sequence
• AI-powered deep readings that provide personalized interpretations
• An immersive, cinematic web experience

3. Nature of the Service — Important Disclaimer

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED FOR ENTERTAINMENT, REFLECTION, AND PERSONAL INSIGHT PURPOSES ONLY.

• I Ching readings, including AI-powered interpretations, are not professional advice of any kind — not medical, legal, financial, psychological, or spiritual counsel.
• The readings should not be used as the sole basis for any significant life decision.
• The I Ching is a philosophical and cultural tradition spanning three millennia; its readings are inherently interpretive and subjective.
• AI-generated content may contain errors, biases, or unexpected outputs. It should be read as a prompt for personal reflection, not as authoritative guidance.

4. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to promote illegal activities
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, APIs, or infrastructure
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without permission
• Submit content that is harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers connected to the Service
• Use the Service to generate content that promotes hate speech, violence, or discrimination

5. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content (excluding traditional I Ching texts which are in the public domain), features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of I Ching Realm. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without prior written consent.

You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our written permission
• Use our branding, design elements, or content for commercial purposes
• Create derivative works based on the Service

Traditional I Ching texts (卦辞, 象辞) and the King Wen sequence are in the public domain and not subject to our intellectual property claims.

6. AI-Generated Content

When you use the AI Deep Reading feature:

• You understand that content is generated by an artificial intelligence language model
• AI-generated content may not always be accurate, appropriate, or aligned with traditional I Ching scholarship
• You are responsible for how you interpret and act on AI-generated content
• We reserve the right to filter or refuse AI-generated content that violates our policies
• You grant us a limited license to process your question through our AI provider for the purpose of generating your reading

7. Availability and Modifications

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free. We reserve the right to:

• Modify or discontinue the Service at any time without notice
• Change pricing for premium features with 30 days' advance notice
• Update these Terms at any time, with material changes posted on this page

Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• The Service is provided on an "as-is" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied
• We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the Service
• We shall not be liable for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from the use of the Service
• Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim

EU/EEA Users: Nothing in these Terms excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by applicable law.

Brazilian Users (LGPD Art. 43): The limitation of liability above is subject to the limitations set forth by the Brazilian Consumer Defense Code (CDC), which may not be waived.

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless I Ching Realm and its licensors, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, actions, demands, liabilities, and settlements including legal fees arising from your violation of these Terms or your use of the Service.

10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

10.1 United States

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Delaware.

10.2 European Union / EEA

For EU consumers, these Terms comply with EU consumer protection law. Disputes may be submitted to the European Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. You may also bring proceedings in your country of residence.

10.3 Brazil

Para usuários brasileiros, estes Termos estão sujeitos ao Código de Defesa do Consumidor (Lei nº 8.078/1990). Disputas podem ser submetidas ao Procon ou aos Juizados Especiais Cíveis (JEC) conforme legislação aplicável.

10.4 Canada

For Canadian users, these Terms comply with applicable provincial consumer protection legislation. Disputes shall be resolved in the province where you reside.

11. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable or invalid, such provision will be changed and interpreted to accomplish its objectives to the greatest extent possible under applicable law, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
